The route to success could be an apprenticeship

CET is proud to support National Apprenticeship Week 2022. The theme for #NAW22 is “Build the Future” which aims to bring together employers and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to all involved.

CET News caught up with Chelsea and Yasmin, two of CET’s apprentices, who spoke about their many triumphs during their time with CET:

Chelsea began: “I chose to undertake an apprenticeship as I'm more of a hands-on learner, and I find it much easier to learn whilst on the job, as opposed to just sitting in a classroom. Apprenticeships are also a great way to gain work experience at the same time as a qualification.”

Yasmin agreed: “I decided to choose an apprenticeship over the other education routes because I prefer to be learning while on the job, and a classroom environment does not suit me. Being able to gain experience while learning on the job with an apprenticeship seemed like the perfect opportunity for myself.

There are lots of other benefits to an apprenticeship as well. One of the biggest benefits of an apprenticeship with CET is that I have been able to move around different departments within the business and gained a deeper insight into the different sections of the company which allowed me to explore where my professional interests lie.”

Chelsea continued: “I chose to complete my apprenticeship with CET because the pay is better than what other companies were offering and as I’m 25, this is something I had to consider as I have my own house and the costs that come with that. Not only that but the support that is offered through my Team manager and the apprenticeship company Access Training, is second to none!

Starting an apprenticeship has opened many professional doors for me. Since I started in August, I have gained experience in various departments across the business and I will now start my training to become a Claims Manager! To be able to move my way up in the company is very exciting and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!”

All of CET’s apprenticeship programmes are delivered in partnership with Access Training East Midlands.
