Following the announcement of the formal split of CET’s materials testing and insurance businesses, we’re delighted to welcome Chris McLain to the team in his role as CEO of Property Assurance.
CET Property Assurance has seen significant growth over the past two years, particularly in its Home Emergency service, which has expanded to look after over 4 million homes and providing services to over 100,000 homeowners per year. In addition to Home Emergency, CET also provides outsourced support to insurers for domestic and commercial Drainage and Subsidence claims.
Chris is a highly experienced senior manager. Having previously been a plc CEO, he led and delivered Home Emergency Services at Eon and has been a Senior Director at Homeserve.

His focus on operational excellence and drive for the business to reach its full potential will help our Property Assurance business to become a key player in the market, as well as ensure that we deliver the best possible service to all of our customers.”
Chris’ experience will see him initially focus on growing CET’s Home Emergency service, realising the potential of the new SIMPLIFi system, as well as working with the Service Centre to manage claims and increase the size and services of CET’s accredited network of Contractors.
When asked about joining CET Property Assurance, Chris said: “With the recent technological developments that the business has put into place, as well as it’s significant network of contractors and growing Service Centre, CET Property Assurance is primed to take the next step on its growth journey. I’m delighted to be joining the team and look forward to working with my new colleagues to move the business forward into the next chapter.”
Changes to the Operational Structure
Paul Wozencroft, who joined the business in 2016, will continue to support CET Property Assurance in his role as Managing Director. Working alongside Chris, Paul will work to strengthen and develop relationships with CET’s existing clients for Home Emergency, as well as lead the Subsidence Investigation and Drainage services.
Peter continues: “Paul’s strong relationships across the insurance market, combined with Chris’ experience in Home Emergency, will marry together our strategy to develop a service that is the best on the market for clients and customers alike.
“With the introduction of SIMPLIFi earlier this year, we’re already on our way to connecting everyone within the claims journey. We want to ensure that while we continue to develop new technologies and enhance the digital service that we offer, we also continue to deliver a personal, one-to-one service to our clients. Paul and his team have worked to strengthen our relationships with our industry partners which, alongside Chris’ operational strategy, will carry CET Property Assurance into the future.”
