CET is proud to support National Apprenticeship Week 2022. The theme for #NAW22 is “Build the Future” which aims to bring together employers and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to all involved.

CET News spoke with Aimee and Kian, two of CET’s apprentices, who reflected on their achievements during their time with CET:

Aimee explained why she chose to undertake an apprenticeship: “To me, an apprenticeship seemed like the perfect option. I could get the job that I wanted and carry on my learning, whilst earning- it is a win-win. Taking an apprenticeship has had lots of benefits for me both in a work and a personal sense. By going into an apprenticeship you can gain a deeper on the job insight into the career path you want to take. Apprenticeships offer choice, opportunity, qualifications, support, and a head start into a future career.”

Kian, pictured left, added: “I chose an apprenticeship instead of college or sixth form because I aimed to acquire valuable skills and experience in a professional atmosphere. I would definitely recommend a CET Apprenticeship to others; I have learnt so much about the company and the experience has been wonderful, I would love to continue my journey here!

An apprenticeship with CET has helped me to develop my career, and I have definitely established myself amongst my other colleagues who have all helped in making me feel comfortable and appreciated.”

Aimee spoke about how she felt valued in her team as well: “Even though I am an apprentice who is just starting my career, I definitely feel valued and that I am an integral part of the team.

I would recommend an apprenticeship to anyone, as they are an excellent way to gain knowledge and skills in a particular sector or role you want to work in.

Before I joined CET, I had very little knowledge on customer service, but this apprenticeship has given me an insight into what customer service is and how to deliver it effectively to ensure an excellent customer experience is received every time. Through my experience as an apprentice for CET, I have gained many valuable company-specific and transferable skills, which has enabled my confidence as a young professional to grow significantly.”

Kian agreed and said: “A huge benefit of an apprenticeship is that is has helped me grow both as a person and as a professional. At the end of my apprenticeship, not only will I receive a recognised qualification, but I will also have gained independence, confidence, and invaluable work experience.”

All of CET’s apprenticeship programmes are delivered in partnership with Access Training East Midlands.
