CET wins Best Newcomer at Palatine Private Equity Portfolio Dinner

CET  is delighted to have won the Best Newcomer Award at the Palatine Private Equity Portfolio Dinner for its investment in Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) initiatives.

CET was awarded the accolade for its investment in its people and processes, including its suite of ISO accreditations, Mental Health Awareness initiatives and investment in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Earlier this year, CET raised over £10,000 for leading mental health charities Place2Be, The Lighthouse Club and Samaritans, through challenges taken on by the senior management team. The challenges include swimming the equivalent of the English Channel, giving up alcohol and barbequing marathons!

In addition, CET’s #LetsTalk Awareness campaign encouraged employees to talk openly about their Mental Health to their colleagues, as well as its 20 Mental Health First Aiders who are based nationwide.

Speaking about the award win, HR Advisor Janet Fairhurst said: “Our most important asset is our people, so we have invested heavily in our Mental Health awareness programme to ensure we have an open and honest culture when it comes to our employees’ wellbeing. During Mental Health Awareness Week, we signed the Time to Change Employer Pledge, committing to raising awareness of mental health issues and promoting good wellbeing practices. There are many more initiatives in the pipeline to build upon the great work that the team have already done to embed mental health conversations into our working practices, and we’ll continue to provide the necessary support to employees that need it.”

In addition to its mental health initiatives, CET was also recognised for its efforts to create a comprehensive CSR programme, which asks employees to volunteer to support the development of policies, processes and initiatives.

Speaking at the dinner, Stephanie Wall, ESG Manager for Palatine Private Equity, said: “CET was new to the portfolio in 2018 and immediately showed dedication and commitment to ESG management. CET recognises that their biggest asset is its people and how important it is to look after them! We have observed a real appetite to drive ESG performance and an opportunity to consolidate, strengthen and communicate their sustainability. It was a difficult category to award this year, but we felt that CET is really deserving and we’re excited to observe the impacts from their ongoing efforts as it progresses."
