CET mobilises task force in wake of Storm Desmond

Written by CET Newsroom | Dec 22, 2015 11:29:53 AM

As the North of England braces itself for further flooding this week, CET has mobilised a task force of trades to provide support to hundreds of homeowners across the region.

A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: "There is a high likelihood of low impacts i.e. expect to see some low impacts from either surface water excess or river response, especially with the land remaining close to or at saturation due to the unceasing unsettled weather regime of the past few weeks."

For the third time in as many years, CET's network of engineers and tradespeople will be providing much needed help and assistance as general contractors strip out damaged properties and electricians make properties safe and provide temporary power to drying crews.

CET has more than 50 partners, comprising over 500 tradespeople, on standby over the coming weeks. Gas engineers will be on hand for emergency boiler repairs and to help householders get back into their homes as quickly as possible.

Working in partnership with loss adjusters, insurers and flood restoration businesses we will be coordinating our efforts to minimise the disruption to victims of storm Desmond and the widespread flooding that followed.

Our drainage experts will be working over the festive period to survey any undermined drains or to jet any that may have been blocked as a result of the flood waters.
