CET gains Railway Contractors Certificate from Network Rail
Network Rail is dedicated to safety as a core component of delivering “a better railway for a better Britain”. The concept of a Safe Work Leader (SWL) – the individual responsible for site planning, operations and risk management – is fundamental to helping Network Rail deliver on this vision.
The Railway Contractors Certification program was introduced in 2015 and is designed for contractors who are required to fulfil the SWL role. Those companies that receive certification are governed by a code of conduct that establishes a set of safety and quality standards for rail and trackside services.
Adherence to the code ensures we are compliant with the Sentinel Scheme rules, maintain RISQS accreditation and provide the training necessary to ensure site work is carried out to a high standard.
CET’s successful certification is further evidence of our commitment to quality, health and safety and adds to the RISQS (Link Up) qualification achieved back in 2013. Independent certification and accreditation forms a key part of our strategy of continuous improvement and provides an additional level of confidence in our ability to deliver within the physically constrained environments that are typical within the rail environment.
“We are excited to be the first site investigation and materials testing company to secure an RCC, demonstrating our commitment to rail and opening up new opportunities for the business” Phil West, Consultancy Manager CET.
Since achieving Link Up, we have carried out more than 150 rail infrastructure projects, including geotechnical and environmental consultancy, site investigation works and structural surveys.
