Recognising that data protection is paramount for its clients and their customers, leading provider of specialist outsourced services, CET, has achieved certification against the internationally recognised information security standard ISO 27001:2013, after demonstrating effective leadership, management commitment and a robust approach to information security.
A long-term objective of the Board of Directors is to achieve recognition for the information security management systems in place and, coupled with continuing investment in app technology for both its infrastructure and property assurance services to enhance its customer offer, it was considered the perfect time to verify the effectiveness of these management systems. The certification will not only provide customers with the confidence in CET’s ability to recognise and effectively manage risk, but also help ensure they can meet compliance and legal obligations.
In order to achieve the certification, CET was subjected to a rigorous assessment and full onsite audit of its physical environment, policies, processes and management systems developed and effectively implemented to protect internal and external information handled by the company. The standard also provides a framework to help CET continually improve its systems and manage and minimise risk.
Bob Blunden, CEO, explained: “Achieving the ISO 27001 certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to, and investment in, customer data protection, and we’re proud to be recognised for the processes we have implemented that ensure the absolute security of our customers’ details. The certification will provide our customers, shareholders and directors with the peace of mind that their information is well protected.
“The past few years have been a transition phase for us as we embrace new ways of working and move into becoming a technology-led company, particularly with the launch of our CETi® and SIMPLIFi apps and our online customer portal. The platforms have streamlined our customer offer, satisfying the demand for instant responses and full visibility, and external verification of our information security management systems compliments how effectively these have been implemented. With more information stored virtually, improving our security systems is just as important as developing new online platforms, and the certification will provide a benchmark in which we will ensure continual improvement.”
