New hire boosts home emergency expertise

The heating and plumbing team at CET has expanded further with the creation of a new Heating & Plumbing Services Manager.

Elliott Allen, an experienced Gas Safe-certified engineer, takes up the role with a focus on the continual drive of best practice and the ongoing fostering of a partnership approach with CET supplier partners.

Today, one in 14 properties nationwide are covered by CET’s Property Assurance services through several leading insurers. With 60% of claims relating to heating and plumbing emergencies from boiler breakdown to pipe leakage, Allen’s appointment provides additional weight to the already experienced team delivering in-house technical expertise to ensure consistency and compliance.

A major focus for Allen will be continuing to strengthen CET’s countrywide supplier partner network, from selection of the right skilled partners through to performance measurement and management. With 20 years’ experience as a heating and plumbing engineer himself, Allen will support supplier partners in increasing fix rates, productivity and throughput with a ‘right first time’ approach at all levels. Additionally, his role will support CET’s existing quality assurance team through spot checks and on-site audits to give confidence to insurers and policy holders alike. Finally, with gas legislation ever changing, increasing and developing, Allen will be responsible for guaranteeing compliance and safety within the quality assurance team.

Mark Woolerton, Property Trades Supplier Manager at CET, commented: “Backed by Gas Safe certification and many years of hands-on industry experience, Elliott brings unrivaled technical ability to deliver focussed support and development for our entire network. He’ll make an invaluable contribution to the delivery of customer-centric, cost-effective services to which we at CET have made a strong commitment.”

Paul Wozencroft, Managing Director of CET’s Property Assurance business, added: “This appointment brings additional skills to our strong team and will form an integral part of our service development strategy. As well as enhancing our Home Emergency services, it will allow us to grow within CP12s and boiler servicing as industry demand for these vital services continues to increase.”
